Maria is very much a positive example of an Independent artist making it in the un-signed
world of music as she just completed her first full tour in Ireland including Belfas.

She is receiving great response from radio’s such as Charlie McGettigan’s
Shannonside FM which featured a one hour special on Maria, XM Radio NY, NPR,
CA & WC, KUCI in US. BBC Radio Ulster (Jerry Anderson show, Alan Simpson,
Arts Extra), U105 (George Jones show), EastCoast FM, Dublins Country Mix,
LMFM, Dundalk FM, KFM, Tallaght FM, Midlands Radio.

This wildly gifted Irish artist has credited her early inspiration for music as coming
from a result of her father’s affection for Irish whiskey. As a means of distraction,
young Maria taught herself to play various instruments including: the Guitar,
Mandolin, Viola (she was a member of the Dublin Youth Orchestra), Whistles
& Piano. Her amazing voice is a gift inherited from her mother. She first visited
New York and then traveled onto Nashville where she had a chance to study the craft
and was offered her first publishing deal for one of her songs titled ‘Silent Partner’,
from one of Nashville’s hit songwriters Kostas Lazarides - UMG Publishing
(who wrote ‘What A Cryin’ Shame – Mavericks, ‘This Thing – Dwight Yoakam,
‘Looking In the Eyes of Love’ recorded by Various artists including Irish Pop Band –
The Corrs).

	Award winner Maria Butterly, originally from Laytown, Co Meath, songstress has been living in Los Angeles for several years and has just released her second album titled ‘Nasvhillain Days’. Regarded as “one of Ireland’s most talented singer -songwriters” quotes Ireland AM (TV3) where she recently performed live, Maria has become a hit with the music press. Her original style of music is opening the door to a Celtic Country craze, the singer is influenced by the likes of Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell & Alison Krauss, hence her beautiful four octave vocal range and her highly skilled guitar & mandolin playing. She also recently appeared on RTE ‘Seoige & O’Shea’ tv show. Her acoustic album titled ‘Its Just Me’ which features seven tracks that Butterly self arranged, performed and produced received raving reviews by the Evening Herald quoting her songs ‘So Beautiful & Shut Me Out ‘ as ‘Blockbusters!’. Maria has performed in House of Blues (Hollywood), to New York’s famous rock club The Mercury Lounge, to Nashville’s Bluebird Café. She has opened for Damien Rice, Michele Shocked, Hal Ketchum The Proclaimers, Hot-House Flowers, The Saw Doctors, Brendan Grace, Devlins, Dolores Keane, Aslan & many more. She also just finished a tour with Brendan Grace and Johnny Cash’s legendary guitar player Bob Wooten. Previously in Los Angeles Maria was the headliner for the Angelica Huston Gala Event hosted by Grainne- Seoige herself at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA. She won an award at the ’New York International Film and Music Festival’. Her amazing story behind her song ‘Kieran’ was recently published in the book ‘The Singer & The Song’ by Irish Author Audrey Healy, along with other well known artists Luka Bloom, Christy Moore, Phil Coulter, Maura O’Connell, Brian Kennedy, Charlie -McGettigan.
